Our Christmas Gift List 2022

the daddy sleep consultant - getting your child through fireworks night

We absolutely adore Christmas in our house. I prefer the lead up to Christmas even more than the day itself: all the festive music, films and anticipation of watching the boys open their presents on Christmas morning.

But I get stumped each year with what gifts to get them, so if you are anything like me, you love to be inspired! With this in mind I have pulled together a gift list of things we are giving the boys this year.

Malachy: 12 months

  • Kidly
  • Kimmy Koala Tissue Wonder Box
  • Age: 9 months+
  • RRP £22

I am really excited to give this to Malachy as his favourite past time is taking the wet wipes out of the packet! The sweet box contains 8 soft organza squares and 2 crinkly blankets for him to pull out – I can just imagine his little face. This is a good one for his fine-motor skills and colour identification.

  • Octopus Toys
  • Elephant- Natural Rubber Baby Rattle and Bath Toy
  • Age: 0+
  • RRP £12.99

This Tikiri’s elephant baby toy is both a teether, rattle and bath toy. Malachy is shaking or drumming everything at the moment which is great as sound toys, like rattles, provide stimulation to babies as they discover their senses. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it is handmade, sustainable natural rubber that’s 100% plastic free.

  • The Hyggelig Store
  • Wooden animal sound puzzle
  • Age: 12 months+
  • RRP £17.95

I’m really impressed with this sweet little puzzle. Its great for hand-eye coordination and as they recognise the shapes and put the animals correctly in the puzzle, the sensors respond and sound a splash, croak or buzz – very cute.

  • Toys From The Woods
  • Rocking / Balance / Wobble Board
  • Age: 0+
  • RRP £89.95

I have been debating a balance board for years and I saw this rainbow one and fell in love. This is actually going to be a gift for all the boys as it spans ages! It is perfect for active play, developing gross motor development and balance, as well as developing imagination and creativity. Raffy will climb all over it but I know Teddy will use it as a bridge or ramp for his cars.

  • Mizzie The Kangaroo
  • Mizzie Sound Book & Teether
  • Age: 0+
  • RRP £25.50

This cute little combo is a ‘Sing with Mizzie’ nursery rhyme book paired with a gorgeous natural teether. I love having a toy or teether the little one can hold as we are reading books. I have always found that you can bring the story to life and it becomes much more interactive.

  • TOMMY
  • InnyBin
  • Age: 10 months+
  • RRP £20.99

This is cool because we don’t have anything like this from the older boys. Malachy loves putting items into a box or cup so this will add a bit more complexity as he is getting older. Its part of the Fat Brain collection and I’ve always like their bits.

Rafferty: 2 years

Rafferty as a baby, with his oldest brother Teddy
  • Jaques of London
  • Clean and Play Set- Toy Cleaning Set
  • Age: 2+
  • RRP £39.99

I think this Clean and Play Set is going to be one of Raffy’s favourite things on Christmas morning. He LOVES cleaning so this Jaques’ wooden toy cleaning set means he will be able to sweep, dust and mop until his wee heart’s content.

It’s such a good way for him to develop gross motor skills such as balance and coordination, and its such a fun way to develop his role-play. All of the Jaques’ products are well made and it has been crafted using the highest quality materials: only the best for my domestic god!

  • Orchard Toys
  • Old MacDonald Lotto.
  • Age: 2-6 years
  • RRP £11.75

We have a lotto game in this house! We did have a summer version that we took on holiday and unfortunately left behind. Raffy was gutted so I couldn’t resist this Old MacDonald version to replace it. It’s is an early learning matching game and perfect for all the family to play after Xmas lunch.

  • Tonies
  • CoComelon Tonies
  • Age: 3+
  • RRP £14.99

If you follow us on Instagram you will know we have had a Tonies Box for years. Both my older guys love both the story and music characters and even Malachy is having a wee bop to the nursery rhymes now. Tonies have just released a CoComelon Tonie and Raffy will be thrilled when he sees it.

  • Octopus Toys
  • Stacking cubes – Animals
  • Age: 2+
  • RRP £24

Raffy is animal mad so I think he will love these stacking cubes. The 5 stackable cubes are numbered so it’s a great way for him to practice counting and learn the names of the different animals. I can see this being something he will play with the baby, as he gets older.

  • Hape UK
  • Magic Touch Piano
  • Age: 6 months+
  • RRP £29.99

Chris’ Dad was really musical so we wanted to get Rafferty this wooden piano. Of all our boys he is by far the most interested in music. It has an interactive electronic keyboard and even includes various double-sided pages of sheet music!

Teddy: 4 Years

  • Octopus Toys
  • Construction site
  • Age: 3+
  • RRP £25

Teddy loves all things construction site and all of these vehicles have moving parts and are painted in realistic and contemporary colours. Tender Leaf Toys use top-quality reclaimed rubberwood which is solid, smooth to the touch and looks lovely.

Given Malachy manages to put all his older brother’s toys in his mouth, I like that their paint is non toxic and so safe for little ones.

The set includes;

  • Dump truck
  • Front loader
  • Excavation digger
  • Crane truck
  • Road roller.
  • Kidly
  • Tie Up Shoe
  • Age: 3+
  • RRP £12

Not necessarily one that Teddy would put on his own list, but I know he is going to love practicing doing his own shoelace. He is Mr Independent and this is the last hurdle for him dressing completely independently. We have tried practicing on real shoes and he was getting very frustrated so I like that we can sit this on the table and it becomes a fun game.

  • Mocchi- Mocchi
  • Optimus Prime Transformers Mega Plush
  • Age: 3+
  • RRP £34.99

This is just a totally fun one for Teddy. He loves transformers and I think this super soft pillow will be a good addition to his room. This is the type of toy that I feel solidifies me as a total boy mum!

  • Orchard Toys
  • Snowman Snap
  • Age: 3-6 years
  • RRP £5.50

Orchard Toys have got some great stocking fillers this year like Snowman Snap. We do a 1st December box for the boys rather than on Christmas Eve which is filled with little fun Xmas items to enjoy in lead up to Christmas such as festive games, socks and pyjamas, and these are perfect for that.

Newborn

  • My Little Learner
  • Baby sensory board
  • Age: 0-6 months
  • RRP £10.99

A friend of mine is expecting a baby in late December so I am going to send this lovely little baby sensory board. My boys were obsessed with black and white shapes in the early days. It’s great for visual development and I used mine to encourage tummy time,

And don’t forget, if you are struggling with your baby’s sleep and want to make improvements before Christmas, our 5* online sleep courses are an amazing way to have them sleeping better before the festive season.
